This comes amid confirmation of Kylian Mbappé having suffered an injury setback.
Real Madrid are of course currently in the midst of final preparations for a return to action on Wednesday night.
With sights on a place in the Last-16 of the Champions League, Los Blancos will play host to Benfica, in the 2nd leg of the playoff tie between the clubs.
Leading by a goal to nil, Álvaro Arbeloa’s troops need only a draw to ensure that their continental campaign remains alive.
As alluded to above, though, in efforts towards as much, Real Madrid look set to be forced to make do without a key performer.
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Kylian Mbappe is a serious doubt for Real Madrid’s Champions League play-off decider against Benfica on Wednesday due to continued discomfort in his left knee.’
Frontman Mbappé is understood to have pulled up during training at Valdebebas on Tuesday, unlikely to be risked against Benfica as a result.
