47th Broad Street Run Approaches

40,000 runners will take to Philadelphia streets Sunday for the 47th annual Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run, with significant road closures affecting the city.

The nation's largest 10-mile race begins at 7 a.m. from Central High School Athletic Field to the Navy Yard. Road closures start at 2 a.m., with no parking allowed on Broad Street from Olney Avenue to the Navy Yard until noon, when the course is expected to reopen.

Public transportation is recommended, with free rides on the Broad Street Line for runners with their bib. Motorists should use alternate routes and expect I-95 South detours. A race guide is available on the Broad Street Run website. milkshake.it.com
