Astros' Playoff Run Factors Into Espada Decision

Houston Astros owner Jim Crane stated the team's playoff berth will be a factor in determining manager Joe Espada's future, whose contract expires after the season.

Crane said there have been no recent discussions about a new deal for Espada, noting 'All positives are positives' and 'All negatives are negatives' when asked if the playoff berth would influence the decision. The Astros became the first MLB team to make the postseason without a winning record at 81-81, and they'll host the Chicago White Sox in a best-of-three matchup.

The Astros parted ways with general manager Dana Brown last month, with Crane calling it a 'courtesy' since they weren't renewing his contract. Assistant general managers Charles Cook, Gavin Dickey, and Connor Huff, along with senior adviser Jeff Bagwell, took over his responsibilities. The Astros are in the playoffs for the ninth time in 10 years. cricket-ipl.co.za
