Australian Sports Apologizes for Pre-Broadcast Drink

Australian sports presenter Danika Mason has apologized after drinking alcohol before a live Winter Olympics broadcast, where she slurred her words and went off-topic.

Australian sports presenter Danika Mason has apologized for drinking alcohol before a Channel Nine's Today show live Winter Olympics broadcast. During the segment, Mason slurred her words and went off-topic, discussing iguanas when the segment had been focused on coffee.

Studio host Karl Stefanovic attempted to cover for Mason, suggesting cold weather was affecting her speech. Mason later took full responsibility, stating "I shouldn't have had a drink" and that the weather and not eating beforehand didn't help. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed support for Mason, attributing the incident to time differences and fatigue.
