Barcelona Meet Rashford Agents Over Permanent Transfer

Barcelona director Deco has met with Marcus Rashford's agents to discuss a permanent transfer, with the club aiming to reduce the €30 million purchase option from his loan deal.

According to SPORT, a key meeting took place between Deco and Arturo Canales, Rashford's agent, on Monday to prepare for negotiations with Manchester United. Barcelona is keen to retain the England international but wants to lower the €30 million fee that was agreed last summer, which Manchester United considers closed and non-negotiable.

Kostas Theoharides, who helped facilitate Rashford's loan move to Barcelona, was also present at the meeting and could play a significant role in bridging differences. The salary aspect remains a concern too, as Barcelona's tighter financial constraints mean they cannot match Rashford's current wages, requiring the player to accept a significant reduction if he wishes to stay in Catalonia.
