Bears Seek 2030 Stadium Opening

Chicago Bears leaders want a quick resolution on a new stadium site, targeting an enclosed facility by 2030.

Team President Kevin Warren said Wednesday they hope to choose between Arlington Heights, Illinois, or Hammond, Indiana, by this spring or summer. The Bears face cost pressures amid market uncertainty and are pushing Illinois lawmakers to approve tax breaks while also evaluating Indiana's offer.

Warren emphasized the need for quick decisions due to rising costs. In Illinois, officials await approval for property tax breaks, while Indiana has authorized a stadium with $2 billion from the team and $1 billion from state taxes. Environmental concerns at the 340-acre Indiana site were addressed, with Warren finding 'no issues.' Infrastructure needs are being worked out with Indiana officials.
