Braves Place Acuña on 10-Day IL with Hamstring Strain

The Atlanta Braves have placed star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. on the 10-day injured list due to a strained left hamstring.

Acuña, a five-time All-Star and 2023 NL MVP, left Saturday's game against the Colorado Rockies in the second inning after pulling up while running out a ground ball. The Braves, who entered Sunday with MLB's best record at 24-10, will now be without their top performer who is batting .252 with two home runs and seven steals this season. newsbetting.bond

The injury comes after Acuña had played in all 34 games following a torn ACL in May 2024 that limited him to 144 games over the previous two seasons. To compensate, the Braves activated right-hander Spencer Strider from the 10-day IL (strained oblique) and selected outfielder José Azócar's contract from Triple-A.
