Canada’s Homan defeats Sweden, improves to 4-3

Canada’s Rachel Homan rink defeated Sweden 8-6 in Milano Cortina, extending their Olympic win streak to three and improving to 4-3.

In the round‑robin at the Milano Cortina Winter Games, Canada’s Team Rachel Homan beat the undefeated Swedish squad led by Anna Hasselborg 8‑6. The Canadian rink, composed of Homan, Tracy Fleury, Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes, secured the win with a decisive triple‑takeout in the eighth end that gave them a 6‑5 lead. Sweden tied the game in the ninth, but Canada closed it out in the tenth to claim the victory.

The win improves Canada’s record to 4‑3 and extends their Olympic streak to three games. Homan will rest before facing host Italy on Wednesday, with a chance to reach the playoffs if the team continues winning.
