Colts' Anthony Richardson Needs Change of Scenery

ESPN's Aaron Schatz lists Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. as one of NFL players who could benefit from a 'change of scenery' this offseason due to inconsistent performances and injuries.

Richardson's early career with Indianapolis has fallen short of expectations. As a rookie in 2023, he posted a 45.0 QBR in four starts, followed by a 47.4 QBR in 11 starts in 2024. The former fourth overall pick missed most of the 2025 season after suffering a fractured orbital bone during pregame warmups.

With the Colts expected to sign Daniel Jones to a contract extension and rising second-year quarterback Riley Leonard showing promise, Richardson's $10.8M projected cap hit for next season puts the team in a difficult position. The 24-year-old signal-caller may need a fresh start to reignite his promising career.
