Commanders Highlight Two Major Contracts in Offseason

Washington Commanders secured a $30M per year extension for left tackle Laremy Tunsil and a $96M, 4‑year contract for edge rusher Odafe Oweh, making both deals stand out among the season’s most notable contracts.

In the offseason, Washington Commanders signed left tackle Laremy Tunsil to a two‑year extension that makes him the first offensive lineman to average $30 million per season. The deal keeps Tunsil on the roster through 2026, positioning him for another lucrative contract if he maintains his high level of play.

Simultaneously, the team secured edge rusher Odafe Oweh to a four‑year, $96 million contract, a move aimed at bolstering a pass rush that suffered after the loss of Dorance Armstrong. Oweh’s performance, including 7.5 sacks in 12 games last season, underpins the Commanders’ confidence in the deal.
