Crystal Palace have entered discussions with Pierre Sage to take over as head coach. Sage recently led Lens to a second-place finish in Ligue 1, finishing just six points adrift of Paris Saint-Germain, and secured the Coupe de France. He has now emerged as the prime candidate to replace Oliver Glasner at Selhurst Park.
Palace initially targeted Andoni Iraola, but he is currently in talks with Liverpool to succeed Arne Slot. The club was also put off by the compensation fee required for Frank Lampard. Sage, who was previously sacked by Lyon in January 2025 before inheriting an eighth-place Lens side, is reportedly keen to join the Eagles, and a deal is expected to be struck. syntagm.co.za
