Daboll Drawn to Titans for Cam Ward

New Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll was drawn to the team primarily because of quarterback Cam Ward, whom he extensively pursued while coaching the Giants.

Daboll, formally introduced as Titans OC on Feb. 18, emphasized Ward's athletic abilities and comfort with the QB's unconventional mechanics, despite Ward ranking last among regular starters in touchdown rate as a rookie. 'He's a young, athletic quarterback who has accuracy,' Daboll said. 'He can make plays on the move.'

The former Bills coach, who helped develop Josh Allen into an MVP, has studied Ward extensively since his college days at Washington State and Miami. While dodging questions about specific schemes, Daboll expressed eagerness to begin installing the offense once Ward's shoulder rehabilitation is complete.
