DC IndyCar Race Sees Record Viewership

The Washington D.C. IndyCar Grand Prix drew record viewership, becoming the most-watched non-Indy 500 race since the 2008 IndyCar/Champ Car merger.

FOX Sports averaged 3.282 million viewers for IndyCar's Freedom 250 Grand Prix on the streets of Washington D.C. The race peaked between 2:30 and 2:45pm EST with 3.482 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

These numbers make it the highest-viewed non-Indy 500 IndyCar race since before the 2008 reunification of IndyCar and Champ Car, marking a significant milestone for the series. grenadier.co.za
