Former Dodgers Pitcher Signs with Padres

Former Dodgers World Series winner Walker Buehler signed a minor league deal with the San Diego Padres on Monday, turning down a $20 million offer from Los Angeles.

Walker Buehler, who pitched for the Dodgers from 2017-24, missed the 2023 season after Tommy John surgery. After turning down a $20 million offer from Los Angeles, he joined Boston but was released after struggling with a 5.45 ERA. He finished 2024 with Philadelphia, posting a 0.66 ERA in three appearances.

The Padres have pitching losses this offseason, with Buehler potentially filling a rotation spot if he makes the Opening Day roster in 2026.
