Richmond, Texas - A grand jury in Fort Bend County, southwest of Houston, on Monday declined to indict Beverley on one count of assault of a family member. The former NBA player had been arrested in November after his sister claimed he assaulted her at their mother's home.
Beverley, who played 12 seasons in the NBA with the Houston Rockets and Milwaukee Bucks, had maintained his innocence. His attorneys stated Beverley "would never do anything to harm his sister" and expressed gratitude for the grand jury's decision. Beverley posted on social media thanking supporters for prayers and emphasizing the need to "protect our children, especially our young girls."
