Mahrez, Arnautovic Retire After World Cup Exit

Algerian star Riyad Mahrez and Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic have announced their retirements from international football following their teams' World Cup exits.

Both players announced their decisions after their respective nations were eliminated from the tournament. Algeria lost 2-0 to Switzerland, while Austria suffered a 3-0 defeat to Spain.

35-year-old Mahrez, who won the African Championship in 2019 and was named Africa's best player that year, currently plays for Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia. Arnautovic, Austria's all-time top scorer with 49 goals, plays for Red Star in Serbia after joining from Inter last fall. grenadier.co.za
