Mets Place Mauricio on IL with Thumb Fracture

The New York Mets placed infielder Ronny Mauricio on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb fracture and called up Vidal Brujan from Triple-A Syracuse.

Mauricio was injured Saturday when he dived into first base while beating out an infield single. Manager Carlos Mendoza said Mauricio could be out 6-8 weeks, with the club getting more details on the injury Monday.
