Notre Dame-USC Rivalry Resumes in 2030
Notre Dame will play at USC on August 31, 2030, and host the Trojans on August 30, 2031. Games in 2022 and 2023 will be played in the first three weeks of the season. The rivalry, known as "the greatest intersectional rivalry in college football," was played annually from 1946-2025 except during the pandemic year 2020.
Notre Dame leads the all-time series 53-38-5 since they first met in 1926. The teams play for the Jeweled Shillelagh Trophy, a tradition dating back to 1952. Negotiations became challenging after USC joined the Big Ten in 2024, as the Trojans prefer not to play nonconference games after September. catcross.org

Trevoh Chalobah’s long association with Chelsea is set to end after Como agreed a deal worth an initial £25.7m (€30m). The England World Cup defender’s departurte was agreed on the same day the club completed the signing of Jordan Henderson.
Chalobah will depart after playing 105 Premier League games and establishing himself as a first-team option during a number of turbulent periods for the club. The move will be seen as a coup for Como’s head coach, Cesc Fàbregas, with the former Chelsea midfielder personally pushing to bring the centre-back to Italy.

Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has been at the team's practice sessions the last couple of days, but he has remained an observer rather than a participant in the team's training camp work.
Gibbs's absence from the field has been linked to his desire for a contract extension, although a hold-in has not been confirmed beyond head coach Dan Campbell saying last week that it is a case of "both sides working through something." On Monday, Gibbs briefly spoke to reporters on his way into the team's facility and said "it’s not about that" when asked if a new deal has to be in place for him to get on the field.
When asked what it is about, however, Gibbs said "I don't know" and offered little hint about when the situation might change.
"Only time will tell," Gibbs said, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is also in the market for a new contract and sitting out of practice at the moment. A deal for one could help pave the way for the other, but there's been no sign that an agreement is imminent for either player as both teams move closer to the start of the season.
Raducanu Withdraws from US Open with Leg Injury
Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the US Open due to a stress fracture in her right leg, sustained during the grass-court season. The injury also forced her to miss Wimbledon earlier this year.
The 2021 US Open champion consulted with her medical team before concluding she would be unable to compete in New York this month.
