Notre Dame's Hidalgo Wins Naismith DPOY

Notre Dame junior guard Hannah Hidalgo has been named the 2026 Naismith Women's Defensive Player of the Year, honoring her record-setting defensive season.

Hidalgo set an NCAA record with 202 steals this season, averaging 5.6 per game to earn the top defensive honor. She also averaged 25.3 points per game, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.2 assists while winning ACC Player and Defensive Player of the Year.
