While a March lawsuit accusing Nacua of biting a woman and making an antisemitic comment was a contributing factor to his decision, his attorney Levi McCathern clarified that Nacua had already begun his treatment before the allegations became public. The 24-year-old receiver has denied the allegations "in the strongest terms" and his team plans to file a defamation lawsuit against the accuser.
Nacua is expected to complete the program in time to participate in all Rams OTAs. Coach Sean McVay has expressed trust in the player, stating, "I trust this kid's heart" and wanting to help him grow. The matter is also under review with the city attorney's office to determine if criminal charges will be filed.
