Steelers QB Howard Evaluated for Head Injury

Steelers backup quarterback Will Howard is being evaluated for a head injury after reporting discomfort to medical staff during the second half of Pittsburgh's loss to Buffalo.

Howard was unavailable for postgame interviews following the 28-27 defeat. The Steelers had planned to keep four quarterbacks on their 53-player roster, but if Howard has a concussion, he would likely begin the season on injured reserve. Howard spent most of last season on IR due to a hand injury in training camp. sports24.club

The 26-year-old completed 9-of-15 passes for 69 yards with two touchdowns and an interception against the Bills, taking three sacks in the first half before being replaced by Drew Allar. Howard finished the preseason 26-of-39 for 229 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
