Steinbach's double-double leads Washington past Rutgers 79-72

Hannes Steinbach recorded a 24-point, 16-rebound double-double to lead Washington to a 79-72 victory over Rutgers on Tuesday, securing the Huskies' first-ever win in Piscataway.

Steinbach was 9-of-13 shooting and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line, moving into a tie for second place in Division I with his 17th double-double of the season. Wesley Yates III added 19 points and seven assists for Washington, which shot 50% as a team. Lino Mark led Rutgers with 18 points, but the Scarlet Knights couldn't overcome the deficit.

The Huskies host Wisconsin on Saturday.
