Strømsgodset secured a 2-1 victory over Stabæk in the Norwegian 1st division opener.

Sebastian Pingel scored the winner with a tackle inside the box, while Lars-Christopher Vilsvik equalized after Jacob Hanstad put Stabæk ahead early in the second half. Strømsgodset, relegated last season, appointed Magne Hoseth as head coach following the winter departure of Dag-Eilev Fagermo.
