U.S. Men’s Soccer Falls 2-0 to Portugal in Atlanta Friendly

The U.S. men’s national team fell 2-0 to Portugal in an Atlanta friendly, ending its roster evaluation phase before the World Cup announcement.

Portugal opened the scoring with a 37th‑minute goal from Francisco Trincão, followed by Joao Felix’s second‑half strike to make it 2-0. The Americans had more chances but were unable to convert, with 12 shots to Portugal’s 11 and five of Portugal’s eight on target.

The U.S. will not play again before coach Mauricio Pochettino announces the World Cup roster on May 26. They will face Senegal in Charlotte on May 31, Germany in Chicago on June 6, and begin Group D play on June 12 against Paraguay.
