Zundell Makes WV History with Sub-Four Mile

Drew Zundell, Syracuse sophomore and former University High School state champion, became only the third West Virginian to record a sub-four minute mile, finishing in 3:59.04 at a Boston meet.

The accomplished runner accomplished the feat over the weekend, joining rare company in Mountain State running history. Former Syracuse coach Chris Fox, who was present for the achievement, helped build the program that Zundell now represents.

'It was a full-circle moment,' Zundell said, noting his previous 4:03 time at Cornell earlier in the season. With the rest of the track season ahead, Zundell looks to continue his development as both an athlete and person at Syracuse.
