Yacine Titraoui s’engage avec le RC Lens jusqu’en 2031
RC Lens tient le successeur de Mamadou Sangaré. Quelques jours après le départ du milieu malien vers Brentford, le club artésien a officialisé ce lundi l’arrivée de Yacine Titraoui en provenance de Charleroi.
À 23 ans, l’international algérien s’est engagé avec les Sang et Or jusqu’en juin 2031. Auteur de prestations convaincantes sous les couleurs du club belge la saison dernière, le milieu de terrain franchit un nouveau cap en rejoignant la Ligue 1, où il aura la lourde tâche de compenser le départ de Sangaré. likesport.biz
Selon plusieurs sources, l’opération est estimée à 8 millions d’euros. Une somme intéressante pour Lens, qui profite également de la situation contractuelle du joueur, lié à Charleroi jusqu’à l’été 2027.
Resté sur le banc avec l’Algérie durant la Coupe du monde 2026, Titraoui tentera désormais de s’imposer sous ses nouvelles couleurs et de poursuivre sa progression dans un championnat plus relevé.

Schools rugby incidents investigated
The Gauteng and Western Cape education departments are investigating separate incidents that led to two schools rugby matches being abandoned over the weekend.
A Northvaal Cup clash between Menlopark and EG Jansen in Pretoria was called off after a brawl involving EG Jansen players and Menlopark old boys. Parents also reportedly got involved.
Gauteng MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Lebogang Maile condemned the incident.
“Violence has no place in our schools or on our sporting fields,” Maile told News24. “Every learner has the right to participate in sport in an environment that is safe, respectful and free from intimidation.”
He added that the department was gathering reports from the schools and other stakeholders before deciding whether further action was required.

Meanwhile, the Western Cape Department of Education is investigating an alleged racist incident that brought an end to a derby between Fairmont High School and The Settlers High School in Cape Town.
The match official was heard over the referee communication system alleging that the K-word had been used during the game.
“Racism has no place in any school environment,” Western Cape education department communications director Bronagh Hammond told News24.
She said both schools were following the necessary processes while the department reviewed available video footage.

“The department will provide any necessary support to those involved, including counselling services where required.

CAN féminine 2026 : l’Algérie et le Maroc filent en quarts
L’Algérie a validé son ticket pour les quarts de finale de la CAN féminine 2026 après une victoire convaincante face au Kenya (2-0). Les joueuses de Farid Benstiti ont assuré l’essentiel en prenant rapidement l’avantage grâce à Marine Dafeur, buteuse dès la 14e minute.
Les Vertes ont ensuite confirmé leur domination en doublant la mise par l’intermédiaire de Linda Bendris, qui a inscrit le deuxième but à la 23e minute. Avec cet avantage, la sélection algérienne a parfaitement géré la suite de la rencontre, en restant solide défensivement et en empêchant le Kenya de revenir dans le match.
De son côté, le Maroc a également décroché sa qualification pour les quarts de finale après avoir été tenu en échec par le Sénégal (0-0). Les Lionnes de l’Atlas ont tenté de forcer la décision, mais elles n’ont pas réussi à trouver le chemin des filets malgré une occasion importante sur penalty. Yasmin Mrabet a eu deux opportunités de transformer le tir au but, la première tentative ayant été à retirer sur décision de l’arbitre, mais sans parvenir à faire la différence.
Ce résultat ne permet pas au Sénégal de poursuivre l’aventure. Malgré un match nul solide face au pays hôte, les Lionnes de la Teranga quittent la compétition, l’Algérie ayant assuré le deuxième billet qualificatif du groupe A grâce à son succès contre le Kenya.
Le groupe A livre donc son verdict avec le Maroc et l’Algérie qualifiés pour les quarts de finale, tandis que les deux sélections attendent désormais de connaître leurs adversaires au prochain tour.

Former All Black: We didn’t need a fourth Test
Jeff Wilson suggests the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour is primed to be a blockbuster, but not if the four-Test series ends without a decisive winner.
The All Blacks legend argues the addition of a fourth Test in the US risks taking the shine off what he feels should have been a classic three-match series.
“For me, this is one week too long. We didn’t need the fourth Test,” Wilson said on Sky Sport NZ’s The Breakdown.

“I just feel as though this is for a different reason. The three-Test series in South Africa would have been perfect from my point of view. Absolutely perfect. You are guaranteed to get a result.
“I’d be surprised if there was a draw amongst those games, but I think it’s pretty important that you can find an ending to the story.”
The tour kicks off on Friday night at Cape Town Stadium between the All Blacks and Stormers, before the Kiwis also tackle the Sharks, Vodacom Bulls and Lions ahead of the Tests against the Springboks at Ellis Park, Cape Town Stadium and FNB Stadium.
The series concludes with the fourth clash in Baltimore on 12 September.

While Wilson questioned the final fixture, he welcomed the revival of the old-style touring schedule.
“The touring aspect for me… we’ve seen what the [British & Irish] Lions bring when they go on tour; they are special games,” the ex-outside back said.
“One of my proudest moments as a rugby player was when we won the ‘Springbok head’ when I was playing for Otago when South Africa toured here in 1994.
“For a player who didn’t get to play international rugby, that’s one of the highlights of their career.”
