Entering the 2026 offseason, the New York Jets had a lot of work to do. Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey will be busy, and they've already gotten started.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Jets are trading edge rusher Jermaine Johnson to the Tennessee Titans for nose tackle T'Vondre Sweat.

After trading Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner at the deadline last year, and now with Johnson on the move, the Jets are selling off their veterans. According to Connor Hughes of SNY, some other players might be on the move this offseason.

Jets might trade more veterans away after Jermaine Johnson deal

"The Jets are not having a fire sale, but Jermaine Johnson isn't the only player available," Hughes reports. "Was told from multiple sources, who had conversations with New York here in Indianapolis, that they are open to dealing and listening."

While the Jets might be entertaining other moves, who could fit the bill? Justin Fields would be a player the Jets would surely love to trade away, but with a $23 million cap hit, he's not going to receive much interest at all this offseason.

Garrett Wilson is likely the most valuable player, but trading him wouldn't make much sense considering how badly the Jets still need a wide receiver.

Brandon Stephens, who's under contract for the next two seasons with an out after 2026, could be a trade candidate. Jamien Sherwood could also be a trade candidate, as could Harrison Phillips.

While the Jets have already dealt some of their most valuable players, a few of the aforementioned players could be on the move this offseason, depending on what Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn want to do.

Hughes is reporting that the Jets are continuing to entertain trade offers this offseason. While the exact specifics of the players the Jets could move aren't known, the Jets are a team to monitor in trade markets this offseason after this latest move with Johnson.
