INDIANAPOLIS ― Miami Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is here at the NFL Scouting Combine and armed with eight draft picks at the moment.
The Dolphins have so many needs it should be quite easy to follow Sullivan's preferred best-available player plan.
"I don't think that you can reach for something that is not there just to check a box," Sullivan says.
Is Sullivan looking to add size and power?
"At the end of the day, I want good football players," Sullivan said. "And yeah, big, tough, physical up front, but we wanna be fast on the perimeter."
Here's our best first swing as a seven-round Dolphins draft:
Who will the Dolphins draft in first round?
In this mock draft, the Dolphins select LSU CB Mansoor Delane. Also available and under consideration in a simulation were Tennessee CB Jermod McCoy and Miami OT Francis Mauigoa.
That is a really good scenario for Miami. And with so many positions of need, there should absolutely be a quality player available at No. 11 if Miami general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan stays there.
Delane would be an immediate CB1. Scouts say he's fluid, consistent, adept in press coverage and a potential lockdown corner for years to come.
