It is no secret that Real Madrid are eyeing the signing of a new midfielder come June, and the primary priority of the club is to incorporate a presence who can offer control in the department.
PSG’s Vitinha and AZ Alkmaar’s Kees Smit appear to be the club’s favoured targets as it stands, and the club see both players as top targets to reinforce exactly what they need in terms of a controlling presence.
Now, Defensa Centralbrings to light that Los Blancos have been offered another player in the same position – Rodrigo Mora – and the Portuguese youngster is no new name to the offices at the Valdebebas.
Offered by his agent
Indeed, Mora’s agent Jorge Mendes has offered the player’s services to Real Madrid at this point in the season and has made it clear that he can be a new player of the club for a fee of €70 million.

The fee could theoretically be reduced if Real Madrid can negotiate a lower fee with FC Porto, his current employer. The chance of that unfolding, however, appears very remote at the moment.
Real Madrid have been following Mora for a long time now, and the primary reason why they did not prioritise his signing is that he is an attacking midfielder. As it stands, Los Blancos are overbooked in that department and need a creative midfielder.
They are, thus, attentive to the market to identify alternative targets that fit their needs more snugly. Vitinha and even Joao Neves, thus, sound better at the club offices as targets.
From Rodrigo’s point of view, however, the player is ready to sign for Real Madrid and is ready to take the next step from FC Porto. He is aware of the competition he will face in Madrid but is willing to take it on and fight for his place.
