La Liga champions Barcelona are on the verge of closing an agreement for their first signing of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Blaugrana-bound star? Marcus Rashford.
Frontman Rashford has of course spent the season to date plying his trade on loan at Barcelona, from Manchester United.
The Englishman has proven himself a valuable asset for Hansi Flick’s side, playing a prominent role amid the ongoing personnel problems in Catalunya’s capital.
Across 34 appearances in all competitions to date, Rashford has racked up an impressive 23 goal contributions.
Such exploits had long given rise to chatter that the Camp Nou brass would seek out a permanent deal for the 28-year-old with a view to next season.
And as alluded to above, this week, several months out from the opening of the summer transfer window, Barca have all but sewn up an agreement for precisely that.
As per a report from market insider Matteo Moretto:
‘Barcelona are very close to signing Marcus Rashford.’
