Game recap
Brewers 5, White Sox 2
Luis Rengifo homered and drove in a pair of runs as Milwaukee ran its Cactus League winning streak to four games with a 5-2 victory over Chicago at American Family Fields of Phoenix on Friday afternoon, Feb. 27.
Brandon Sproat became the latest Brewers starter to make his Cactus League debut, allowing three hits, a run and a walk with three strikeouts in 1 ⅓ innings (35 pitches).
"A lot of good things from it," Sproat said. "I thought my cutter was good because it's new. Couple flare hits here and there but that'll happen. It's something to build off of and keep moving forward."

Among the right-hander's other highlights: He picked a runner off first base in the first inning, and topped out at 99.8 mph with his four-seamer.
"It's always fun to go out there and pitch," Sproat said. "Whether it's 10,000 fans or nobody – it's fun to get back to it again."
Another new pitching acquisition, left-hander Shane Drohan (1-0), struck out the side in the fourth and then worked his way out of some traffic in the fifth to post two scoreless innings over his 30-pitch outing.
"I think (William) Contreras just sequenced out there with me really well," Drohan said. "We were on the same page and whatever he was calling, I was throwing. And then it just came down to execution.
"When you're executing, that's what can happen."
Milwaukee is now 4-4 on the spring.

– There was a moment of silence prior to the game to honor Milwaukee native and former longtime major league umpire Bruce Froemming, who died on Feb. 26 at the age of 86.
– Christian Yelich's 2026 Cactus League debut will come on March 4 against the Chicago Cubs.
"Ramp-up is going good," said manager Pat Murphy. "Hurry up and get him in games isn't always the best way to get guys ready. He keeps his body in great shape, so there's not an issue with conditioning. Players with his type of aptitude might want to be working on something else a little bit."
Yelich will also play some left field in camp.
"I still look at him an an outfielder," Murphy said.
– The Brewers' game Saturday against the Reds will be the farewell for players participating in the World Baseball Classic, with the ship-out date to their respective teams coming on Sunday.
Nine players in all will be departing from major-league camp for the Brewers, with most expected to play against the Reds first.
"It changes a few things," Murphy said of his roster temporarily shrinking. "It doesn't keep us from taking it as a positive and then adjusting accordingly."
Milwaukee hosts Team Great Britain in a WBC tune-up game on March 3, with right-hander Jacob Misiorowski making his first spring start.
Quotable
"Cool. Nice. But I don't peek at the velo." – Sproat when informed he'd just missed hitting triple digits in the first inning.
Prospect watch
It was another quiet day on the prospect front, with Jesús Made going 0 for 2 off the bench and catcher Marco Dinges 0 for 1 in his first Cactus League game of the spring.
