20 insights ahead of Premier League’s final 10 games

The 2025/26 Premier League season is hurtling relentlessly towards the business end and nothing has been settled at either end of the table.

The title race, the battle for European qualification and the fight against relegation all still have plenty of life left in them.

Without further ado, read on as we offer 20 insights ahead of the Premier League’s final 10 games of the campaign.

Arsenal

Arsenal are five points clear of Manchester City in the title race. However, City have a game in hand and still have to face the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s side have finished second in each of the past three seasons. They look destined to suffer more heartache this term.

Prediction: 2nd.

Manchester City

Six title successes in eight seasons is a formidable statistic. Seven in nine is even more impressive.

City have developed a useful habit of winning even when they don’t play well. The game against Arsenal in April will flip the title race.

Prediction: 1st.

Manchester United

A run of six wins and a draw in seven outings under interim manager Michael Carrick has fired Manchester United up to third in the table.

The Red Devils have a relatively favourable run of fixtures to come and are strongly fancied to hang on to third place.

Prediction: 3rd.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa’s title challenge has petered out in recent weeks, and they are now in danger of missing out on a place in the top four.

However, if they can avoid defeat against Chelsea in midweek, they should have enough about them to claim England’s likely fifth Champions League qualification spot.

Prediction: 5th.

Liverpool

Liverpool have made a mess of their title defence, but can gain compensation by qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

However, that will be as good as it gets for the Reds as they will fail to win the Champions League and FA Cup this term.

Prediction: 4th.

Chelsea

Chelsea have been a model of inconsistency this season, and that will result in them ending up in the Europa League next term.

A defeat at Villa Park on Wednesday would end any lingering hopes of a top-four finish and leave them hoping for favours in the race to finish fifth.

Prediction: 6th.

Brentford

Keith Andrews has done a decent job since replacing Thomas Frank as Brentford manager, but his team may run out of steam over the next few weeks.

The Bees have several tricky games to come, including visits to Man United, Man City and Liverpool. European qualification will prove to be beyond them.

Prediction: 9th.

Everton

Everton still have four games to come against teams currently in the top six, although three of those will be staged at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With the rest of their run-in looking relatively favourable, the Toffees could be a good bet to move up to seventh place by the end of the season.

Prediction: 7th.

Fulham

Fulham head into the next round of fixtures ninth in the table. They are unlikely to climb any higher between now and the end of the season.

Marco Silva’s side have drawn just four of their 28 games this season. That ‘feast or famine’ approach will keep them in mid-table.

Prediction: 10th

Bournemouth

Bournemouth have bounced back from a disappointing run of results to piece together an impressive eight-game unbeaten run in the league.

They still have to face Arsenal (A), Man United (H) and Man City (H), but are fancied to cement their place in the top half of the standings.

Prediction: 8th.

Brighton & Hove Albion

The race to finish top of the bottom half of the table is a battle no one will be paying too much attention to during the final few weeks of the season.

Brighton are currently in 11th place and should hold on to it.

Prediction: 11th.

Sunderland

Sunderland have defied expectations since winning promotion to the Premier League and could end the season with a noteworthy achievement under their belts.

Finishing above Newcastle United would be celebrated with glee on Wearside. If the Black Cats avoid defeat at St James’ Park on March 22, they could achieve the feat.

Prediction: 13th.

Crystal Palace

Palace have struggled to balance their domestic and European commitments this season, but should be able to finish the campaign with a flourish.

The Eagles still have some winnable games to come and could finish the campaign a little higher than their current position.

Prediction: 12th.

Newcastle United

Having failed to live up to their billing as top four contenders this season, things could get markedly worse for Newcastle on the run-in.

The Magpies have a tough run of fixtures to come over the final stretch. Dropping below Leeds United in the standings is entirely feasible.

Prediction: 15th.

Leeds United

Leeds still have home games to come against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley, which boosts their chances of edging up the table.

The Whites could jump above Newcastle over the next few weeks – an outcome that would crank up the pressure on Magpies manager Eddie Howe.

Prediction: 14th.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham’s decision to sack Ange Postecoglou last summer looks increasingly questionable with each passing week in the Premier League.

Thomas Frank failed to get a tune out of the squad and his replacement Igor Tudor is floundering. Relegation to the Championship is on the cards.

Prediction: 18th.

Nottingham Forest

Forest are another club which has failed to live up to their billing this season. However, they can claw their way out of trouble.

They switched to a back three in the second half at Brighton on Sunday, and looked more threatening. The system could serve them well on the run-in.

Prediction: 16th.

West Ham United

West Ham had shown signs of improvement before their 5-2 defeat at Liverpool on Saturday. However, that result will not define their season.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is the best manager of the teams at the wrong end of the table. He can guide the Hammers to safety.

Prediction: 17th.

Burnley

Burnley are eight points adrift of safety with ten games remaining. Despite showing spirit in recent weeks, they are heading back to the Championship.

The Clarets could feasibly end the campaign at the bottom of the standings if Wolverhampton Wanderers can follow up their recent victory over Villa.

Prediction: 20th.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves are still heading to the Championship despite beating Villa, but that result demonstrated their ability to deliver.

Rob Edwards’ side are scheduled to visit Burnley on the final weekend – that game will determine who ‘wins’ the wooden spoon.

Prediction: 19th.
