Tennessee Titans' L'Jarius Sneed named a potential cut candidate

Last week, the Tennessee Titans got the ball rolling on their offseason plans by trading away T’Vondre Sweat and releasing Lloyd Cushenberry and Xavier Woods.

While they did add defensive end Jermaine Johnson in the trade, there will likely be more subtractions from the roster ahead of the NFL free agency period.

One player who is squarely on the hot seat is L’Jarius Sneed, who has been a major bust since being acquired and is often rumored to be a potential salary cap cut. The latest outlet to mention this potential move is Pro Football Focus (PFF), where Thomas Valentine lists Sneed as a likely casualty.

Tennessee Titans: CB L'Jarius Sneed

The Titans made a big splash trading for L’Jarius Sneed ahead of the 2024 NFL season, but unfortunately, the move just hasn’t worked out. Sneed has played just 12 games in two years for the Titans and missed the entire second half of the 2025 NFL season. If Sneed can’t stay healthy, then it’s time to cut the cord.

Cutting him will incur a dead-money charge of $8.1 million but will save the Titans $11.4 million. Sneed compiled a 50.4 PFF grade in his seven games played in 2025.

General manager Mike Borgonzi touched on Sneed at the NFL Scouting Combine, but did nothing to weigh in either way on his future in Nashville.

The Titans are extremely thin at cornerback, and could decide to wait until the free agency window opens to make a final decision, but they could also cut ties early on and just move on.
