Werder Bremen keeper Mio Backhaus has adopted a "fighting hairstyle" in his team's relegation battle, shaving off his blonde locks to return to his natural dark hair. The 21-year-old believes the new look will help his team collect more points in their fight against the drop.
Speaking to Kicker, Backhaus also acknowledged that competition from Arsenal loanee Karl Hein helped motivate him. "Karl did well and also created a bit of pressure," Backhaus said. "I was able to use that as motivation to come back stronger. The competition helped me." Despite Werder Bremen's challenging league position, Backhaus remains confident in his team's ability to secure their Bundesliga status, stating: "The table position isn't ideal, but we still have enough games left to play."
