Barcelona Captain De Jong Out One Month With Hamstring Injury

Barcelona captain Frenkie de Jong is set for at least one month out with a hamstring injury, potentially missing seven matches across all competitions.

The Dutch international suffered the injury during training ahead of Barcelona's La Liga match against Villarreal. Initial tests suggest a possible muscle tear, which would keep him sidelined for up to four weeks.

De Jong's absence is particularly frustrating for Hansi Flick, who had just regained a nearly full squad. With Pedri having recently returned, the Dutchman's injury leaves a significant gap in midfield that may be filled by Marc Bernal, Marc Casado, or Eric García.
