Finebaum Urges Trump Roundtable to Deliver Real College Sports Change

Paul Finebaum says he hopes President Trump’s upcoming White House roundtable on college sports will produce tangible change, not just headlines.

Finebaum, the SEC Network host, told McElroy and Cubelic that the meeting on March 6—featuring Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Power Four commissioners, Tiger Woods and NBA commissioner Adam Silver—must deliver swift reforms on NIL, the transfer portal and the sport’s structure. He warned that if action stalls, the situation could “blow up” in weeks.

He emphasized that the sport is already “unmanageable” and that the gathering is a critical inflection point. Finebaum urged Washington’s most powerful figures to avoid a circus and instead enact concrete policies to keep college athletics sustainable.
