Heidi Weng secures first World Cup win since 2022

Norwegian cross-country skier Heidi Weng has claimed her first individual World Cup victory since January 2022, winning a thrilling sprint finish on Sunday.

Weng started off the favorite Frida Karlsson and the world elite during Sunday's 20km mass start. She made a strong effort on the final lap but faced a tight three-way battle in the final kilometers. Despite Weng's aggressive racing, Karlsson and American Jessie Diggins managed to stick to her wheels until the last straight, where Weng ultimately proved strongest.

Karlsson rounded out the podium in third place.
