Ifab to Review VAR, Add New World Cup Rules

Football's lawmaking authority Ifab is conducting a two-year review of VAR technology while implementing new rules for the upcoming World Cup, including corner kick checks and potential 'Vinicius Law' punishments.

Football's lawmaking authority Ifab announced a two-year review of video assistant referee technology to ensure it's being used "to its best" while announcing several rule changes for the World Cup finals.

Enhancements include expanding VAR's use to determine corner kicks and fast-tracking punishments for players obscuring their mouths, following the alleged racist abuse of Vinícius Júnior by Benfica's Gianluca Prestianni.
