Former Mumbai wicketkeeper Sulakshan Kulkarni has been appointed as head coach of Oman men's cricket team, replacing Duleep Mendis who transitions to Chief Development Officer.

Former Mumbai wicketkeeper Sulakshan Kulkarni has been appointed as head coach of Oman men's cricket team, replacing Duleep Mendis who transitions to Chief Development Officer. Kulkarni, who was Oman's deputy head coach during the 2026 T20 World Cup, brings extensive coaching experience from guiding Mumbai to its 40th Ranji Trophy title in 2012-13.

The former Mumbai player and coach has previously mentored Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh teams. His immediate challenge will be helping Oman qualify for the 50-over World Cup in South Africa next year after Oman's disappointing T20 World Cup campaign where they lost all four matches.
