Vanderbilt Baseball Deals with Injuries Amid 4-Game Skid

Vanderbilt baseball has lost four consecutive games, with coach Tim Corbin providing injury updates on several key players including Austin Nye, Colin Barczi, Miller Green, and Matthew Shorey.

Injuries have mounted for Vanderbilt baseball after a 5-4 loss to Central Arkansas on March 3 extended their losing streak to four games. Coach Tim Corbin reported that pitcher Austin Nye, who left a February 28 game against Arizona with 'biceps tightness,' has no new update. Catcher Colin Barczi is feeling better from a shoulder injury but hasn't resumed swinging a bat or playing defense.

Pitchers Miller Green and Matthew Shorey remain sidelined, with Green having begun throwing again while Shorey has not. Brodie Johnston and Rustan Rigdon were absent from the lineup against Central Arkansas, with Corbin stating, 'They're not here. They'll be back tomorrow.' The Commodores face Troy on March 4 at 3 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.
