The proposal includes the union asking for 26% of gross revenue, down from their previous 27.5% request, with a salary cap of approximately $9.5 million in the first year. The league had previously offered more than 70% of net revenue after expenses. On housing, the union still wants teams to provide housing for all players in the initial years of the agreement, but later would exempt those making at least 75% of the maximum salary.
If a deal is reached by March 10, it would likely be signed by month's end, allowing for an expansion draft between April 1-6, free agent qualifying offers from April 7-8, and a signing period from April 12-18. Training camps would open shortly after, setting up the regular season.
