Why Milan’s deal for Corinthians’ Andre is hanging by a thread

Milan’s pursuit of Corinthians talent André has hit another significant roadblock, with the Brazilian club stalling negotiations in an attempt to drive up the transfer fee.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the deal has become increasingly complicated after Corinthians officials held direct talks with the player and his representatives. During these discussions, the Brazilian side clarified that the current offer on the table from the Rossoneri is deemed too low to sanction a move.

While Milan have already secured an agreement with André over personal terms, the lack of a club-to-club accord has brought progress to a standstill. The Italian giants have proposed a package worth a total of €17m, which consisting of a fixed base plus €2m in performance-related bonuses, but Corinthians are holding out for a more substantial figure.

With the Brazilian club now playing hardball and playing the raise, Milan must decide whether to improve their financial effort or risk seeing the deal for the highly-rated midfielder collapse entirely.
