New Zealand elects to bat after winning toss vs England

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss at R. Premadasa Stadium and chose to bat first in the T20 World Cup Super 8 match against England.

The win would secure New Zealand a second semifinal spot from Group 2, while England has already qualified after beating Sri Lanka and Pakistan. South Africa and the second spot from Group 1 are already decided, leaving the final spot to the India–West Indies match.
