Warrenton 8th Graders Capture State Basketball Title

The Warrenton 8th grade girls basketball team won the state tournament in Salem, defeating Madras/Warm Springs 60‑52 in the championship game. They finished the weekend with a 5‑1 record, dropping only to Madras on Saturday night before rallying to win the title.

The squad, made up of six eighth‑graders and four seventh‑graders, has had six players together for five years, a continuity that helped them overcome a nine‑point halftime deficit in the final.
